What is Functions on Demand Data about?
Functions on Demand Data is a multi-brand data product that contains information on so-called functions on demand that are available in the vehicle and, if so, which ones and whether they have been activated and for how long.
Functions on demand (FoD) are special vehicle functions that can be booked and activated for a vehicle on demand, such as navigation system, driving assistants, seat heating and many more. Some functions are hardware and software-based and can only be activated if the corresponding hardware is available. Other functions are only software-based and can be activated without hardware limitations.
Such functions have been installed in the vehicles of the Volkswagen Group since around 2020 and enabled the customer to configurate his vehicle individually. Since then, the number of vehicles with FoD has increased significantly and more and more FoD are being added.
