What is State of Health about and how can it benefit you?

The value of an electric vehicle is shaped by the condition of the battery. Its State of Health (SoH) has become one of the key indicators for evaluating used EVs.

Our State of Health data solution delivers reliable, data-driven insights into battery performance and aging direct from the vehicle, without any devices. Using telemetry and diagnostic data such as charge cycles, temperature, usage patterns, and battery age, it enables precise and transparent assessments across the entire e-mobility ecosystem.

  • Fleet managers gain a clear picture of battery health to plan the vehicle deployment, including remarketing and maintenance strategies more effectively.
  • Dealers and buyers benefit from objective, fact-based evaluations that increase confidence in EV transactions.
  • Insurers can assess risk and handle claims more precisely.

By turning complex vehicle data from the manufacturer into actionable insights, State of Health fosters trust and transparency, supports smarter EV lifecycle management, and helps reduce unnecessary battery replacements, contributing to a more sustainable energy transition.

This solutions is available for MOD-4 vehicles of Volkswagen Passenger Cards, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles, Skoda, Seat, Cupra and Audi.

The vehicles must be enrolled, online and built after 2019. The availability of the Licensed Data is subject to the following vehicle-specific limitations:

  • Active Charging Transmission: The vehicle must be actively transmitting charging data.
  • Complete Battery Master Data: Master data for the high-voltage battery (e.g., battery type, cell module manufacturer) must be available.
  • Minimum Charging Behavior for SoH Calculation: The vehicle must meet the minimum requirements for SoH calculation, including AC charging with a charge swing of at least 40%.
  • Methodology and Accuracy of SoH Calculation: The residual battery capacity is determined based on charging data generated during use of the mobile online services. In particular, the amount of energy charged and the charging curve are evaluated considering various established conditions. The result of the calculation may deviate by up to +/- 10 percentage points from the actual residual capacity.

As of 24.09.2025 this applies to:

  • VW Passenger Car/VW Commercial Vehicles: ID.3, ID.3PA, ID.4, ID.5, ID.7, ID.7 Tourer, ID.Buzz
