Technical update: Transition to next-generation vehicle data interfaces

02.04.2026

We are strengthening the foundation for a reliable and scalable charging data ecosystem by transitioning to a new generation of vehicle data interfaces.
As part of this step, the existing brand app interface for external access will be closed as of calendar week 21. This allows us to align our systems with a more robust, standardized architecture designed for future charging and data services

We are enabling a smooth transition to resilient alternatives for charging use cases, including:

• Charging Data – providing state of charge, mileage, timestamps, access status, and vehicle status

• Charging Control – enabling intelligent home charging via third-party apps to optimize energy usage and costs

Already, ten charging data providers across Europe have integrated the new interface, ensuring broad market coverage and minimizing impact for existing services.
