erWin is the central Volkswagen Group online portal that provides independent workshops and other professional operators with paid access to OEM repair, maintenance and diagnostic information for eight brands of the Volkswagen Group. The portal is operated by Volkswagen Group Info Services AG and focuses on business customers that need OEM-compliant information for their daily work on Volkswagen Group vehicles.
On the front end, erWin offers a modern online shop where workshops register with a business account, maintain their company profile and users centrally and purchase time-based licences for the required brands in their market. Once a licence is active, users move from the shop environment into the connected professional back-end systems of the respective brands – for example to the repair and maintenance information frontends and diagnostic applications – where they carry out their technical work.
The new erWin portal consolidates the previous brand-specific solutions into one central access point, reduces complexity for brands and workshops, and helps to fulfil regulatory obligations for providing Repair and Maintenance Information (RMI) to independent operators.
Note: Diagnostic licences for ODIS require specific prerequisites (see below).
erWin does not provide a data feed via API. Instead, it grants licensed users access to OEM-operated systems that contain the official repair, maintenance and diagnostic information for Volkswagen Group vehicles (Lamborghini diagnostic information only).
For diagnostic licences using ODIS, additional prerequisites apply:

After purchasing the appropriate licence in the erWin webshop, users can access the OEM-operated systems of the respective brands. Within these systems, the following types of information are available (depending on brand, market and licence):
• Repair & Maintenance Information frontends – access to official workshop manuals, repair guides, curcuit diagrams and component locations, chassis repair, maintenance tables, working positions, emissions test and service information as provided by the brands’ systems.
• Diagnostic applications – access to diagnostic environments for independent workshops where available within the regulated scope.
• Vehicle identification context – use of OEM systems such as GVF/Carport for correct vehicle identification in the connected systems (e.g. via VIN), ensuring that the right information is applied to the right vehicle.
The core element of this information is the work steps required for service, maintenance and repair, including the estimated effort of working hours (without hourly rates / costs).
The exact content and user experience inside these systems is defined and operated by the respective brands and Group IT environments. erWin provides the standardized access and licensing framework that connects independent workshops to these resources.
Note: Training Data Availability
Training data is not directly available through the new erWin portal. If you require training data, please contact your importer for access. We are working on integrating training data directly into the portal for future releases.
