What is Repair & Maintenance Information about?

“Repair & Maintenance Information” is a licence product that makes the extensive and reliable original RMI data of 6 Volkswagen Group brands utilisable to publishers, data-as-a-service and software providers.

Repair and maintenance information (RMI) from manufacturers is essential for the efficient and successful repair, maintenance and servicing of vehicles. Until now, publishers and software providers had to conclude individual licence agreements with the specific brands if they wanted to use this RMI data for their applications and publications. Alternatively, garages, damage assessors and other related market participants had to obtain this data themselves via the manufacturers' internet portal. Both involved a great deal of effort.

With this licence product, the rights to use original RMI data of 6 brands of the Volkswagen Group for third-party providers of applications and publications can be purchased centrally for the first time.

Data and software providers as well as publishers can further refine this OEM data with their own information on vehicle maintenance, repair and service and thus offer their customers, such as workshops and damage assessors, products and services that radically simplify and streamline business processes in workshops.

Repair & Maintenance Information:

  • Permission for the utilisation of original RMI data from the manufacturers of 6 Volkswagen Group brands to third-party providers of applications and publications concerning the maintenance, repair and service of vehicles
  • The RMI data itself is available via the manufacturers’ internet platform “erWin” for which the third party needs an additional chargeable account.
  • The used original RMI data is platform-based. Queries can be made on a VIN or model basis.
  • With our licence, the data can be integrated into own products, solutions and services that are made for commercial purposes
  • That gives you the option to enrich the data with your own information and instructions for further refinement of the data
  • You benefit from the support of our data specialists

Usage process and available data

You conclude a licence agreement with Volkswagen Group Info Services AG for the use of RMI data from up to 6 Volkswagen Group brands (or less, if you want).

You obtain the data itself via the brands' internet platform “erWin”. This requires an additional cost-based account for each brand. Our data specialists will support you with this.

Once you have finalised the onboarding, you will have access and usage rights for the comprehensive original RMI data of the respective brands, such as:

  • Repair Guides
  • Circuit Diagrams and Component Locations
  • Chassis Repair
  • Maintenance Manuals and tables
  • Working positions
  • Emission test

The core element of this information is the work steps required for service, maintenance and repair, including the estimated effort of working hours (without hourly rates / costs).
