Road Signature Data

With Road Signature Data (RSD), we help you, as a Location-Based Services provider and Geolocation Services operator, to transmit anonymized RSD alongside additional vehicle data, refining the quality of map services.

Our solution gives you precise information derived from multi-function camera data located at the front of the vehicle, provided via consumer backends. This approach eliminates the risk of incorrect traffic sign information or road environment data. Instead, RSD monitors and reports road conditions and provides up-to-date map data.

  2. Road Signs (Traffic Signs (e.g., speed limits, directional signs), Supplementary signs (e.g., „No Parking“)
  3. Traffic Signals & Infrastructure (Traffic Lights, Poles (e.g., lights or power lines), Lampposts)
  4. Vehicle Position & Dynamics (GPS, Car speed)

Permitted data usage

The data set is provided to authorised customers only. The scope of the permitted data usage is defined in the contract between the customer and Volkswagen Group Info Services AG.
