What is Working Positions & Labor Times about?

Independent operators can instantly calculate quotes, invoices, and damage assessments with high accuracy. It eliminates the need for manual searches, estimations, or experience-based assumptions when determining labor operations and effort. This makes the entire process of cost estimation, offer creation, and billing significantly faster, more reliable, and fully traceable – ensuring transparency and acceptance across workshops, customers, and insurance partners.
The product supports multiple operations in a single request, applies smart calculation to avoid duplicate steps, and optionally includes sub labor operations or customer-defined manual positions. In this way, WP< enables reliable, efficient, and transparent cost calculations and ensures consistent execution of repair and service tasks.

Available data and features
Queries are made on a VIN basis. Each request delivers all relevant data for the selected labor operations – from general information and workshop area to time values, material quantities, and possible deviations. The response includes both detailed information per operation and aggregated totals for the entire calculation.
Included information (examples):
- Operation details such as description, base and activity codes, and degree of complexity – e.g. “replace front brake pads” or “change oil filter”.
- Workshop data defining the type of work area and required expertise level.
- Time values including effective and absolute working times for precise calculation of labor effort.
- Material quantities referring to calculated material usage like lubricants, consumables and small parts related to the selected operations (not to be confused with spare parts or material catalog data).
- Deviation information highlighting variants or special conditions, ensuring realistic and compliant cost calculations.
Additional options:
- Sub labor operations: Granular steps within a main operation (e.g., lifting the vehicle, removing and installing components, lowering the vehicle).
- Manual positions: Custom entries added by the customer for tasks not covered by OEM data, which are then included in the smart calculation.
Smart calculation feature:
WP< includes a built-in logic that automatically avoids double-counting redundant work steps. For example, the lifting platform is only raised once even if several repairs are performed on the vehicle. This ensures realistic and consistent time calculations across combined operations.

To use the data product Working Positions & Labor Times, an active Repair & Maintenance Information (RMI) license is mandatory.
